About

I don't really enjoy talking about myself. In instances like these, it evokes in me an uncomfortable proof of self, which I mostly find nauseating and unnecessary. However, creating ones own space in the world wide web demands some form of explanation of the self, and if you come as far as clicking the "About" link on my page, you deserve to get some form of answer from it. So here it goes:

All my life, I have been fascinated by three powerful forces: words, ideas and visuals. Together, these form my personal holy trinity.

Words

Ever since I knew how to read, I was enamored by the power of words. Reading was my first encounter with magic. It was my first love. I was mesmerized how words can evoke a multitude of emotions and visuals and communicate ideas, philosophies and wisdom.

Ideas

It was a very conscious experience for me to realize that not everyone is going to share your opinion and that people have a different understanding on good and bad, on aesthetics, principles, the universe, God, and life as a whole. Growing up in a multi-cultural household, it has always been evident how culture, history and even geography have a bearing on how a people decide to pattern their ideals and philosophies. Obviously, there is a strong connection between literature and philosophy, as the former is often the medium of expression for the latter. The relationship of the two has been a fascination for me. How Fyodor Dostoyevsky chronicled his entire human struggle of various and often conflicting philosophical idealizations through a series of literary masterpieces is a braingasm that gives me goosebumps just as I type. Or how Anton Chekhov shared basic human experiences through short stories in such beautiful and simple manner. These are literary experiences that I live for and that make me, in a strange and simple way, feel alive.

Visual

When I discovered my love for visuals, it finally went full circle. My first encounter with visuals were actually through books. Soon, I discovered the beauty of photography, paintings, sculptures. I guess this is what we generally call art. But then something happened. I began to see art all around me. I saw art in paintings, in photography, in murals. I saw art in sunsets, in travels, in cultures. I saw art in the kindness of strangers.

So this is what this page is all about. I am not here to subliminally sell you a certain camera brand or make a recommendation on what smoothie you should drink. Moreover, this is not a blog. It is a collection of visuals, words and ideas representing a desire to live and chase an authentic human experience.
